Hello Readers , welcome back to this week’s blog post. If you feel like this half of the year did not go particularly the way you planned then this blog post is for you. This time you’re going to try again, but with God.
Have you been trying things on your own for so long without direction ? Have you been working so hard in your own strength ? Have you been looking for purpose and meaning in your life ? If the answer to all these questions are yes I want you to consider Jesus. Not just the thought but the willingness to commit wholeheartedly to a life with him. The bible reminds us in Matthew 6:33 “Seek first the kingdom of God and all these things will be added on to you”, the bible also reminds us in Colossians 3:1 that if we are in Christ we “should set our minds on the realities of heaven”. The honest truth is that our reality is eternal. Everything that we are working so hard to get and achieve here we are not taking it to heaven with us. So wouldn’t it be better to live a life that is a reflection of the kingdom of heaven and honour by God. Is that not more worthy?
I want you to start seeing things from a heavenly perspective. If you feel as though your priorities have been in the wrong place and your interests are in the wrong thing ask God to renew your mind and perspective( Romans 12:1) . Heaven is a place that some day I hope to reach and for me to aspire to get there I have to live a life that honours God .You may ask how do i live this kind of life. It starts with a change of heart. Desiring the things of God and what he wants for you. He desires a relationship with you. He desires spending intimate time with you. This looks like taking some time out in the morning before the world comes with its own demands and at night when the world quietens down to sit with Jesus. Asking him what things burden his heart and how you can be of help. It requires stillness to hear his voice. Something that is cultivated the more you spend time with him.
You may not think this matters but God cares about your language. How you speak matters to him and how you speak of others matters even more. If you want to live your life honouring God the words you speak hold weight in the natural and in the spirit. It is so easy to get caught up in conversations that don’t glorify God and edify your spirit. As you mature you will come to find out that you may even outgrow these conversations. Conversations that don’t bring out the best in you are not worth speaking on anymore. In this new life with Jesus speak life. Speak on things that will encourage your heart and others as you grow in Christ. Let your conversations be gracious and attractive so you will have the right response for everyone.
Your Environment. This is another thing that speaks to who you are. You are not called to just be anywhere and everywhere. You are set apart. You don’t have to honour invites if it speaks less to who you are and your values. Atmospheres attract certain spirits and spirits can influence behaviours and are transferrable if you are not spiritually discerning. For example you go to an event where you know that there is going to be excessive drinking. You tell yourself that you will not drink then you happen to find yourself drinking and being influenced by that environment. It is easy to fall into that bait if you don’t have self control. Honouring God means keeping your body holy and his temple so he can dwell within you .
Ponder on the things that I have spoken about and ask yourself if you are willing to try again and if so with God .
I pray you always find peace, love and comfort.🫂
With Love
